Ingredients
  • 2 lbs (1 kg) chicken wings, tips removed
  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) Canada Corn Starch
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) Mazola Corn Oil
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) Heinz Ketchup
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) soy sauce
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) minced fresh ginger*
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 to 2 tsp (5 to 10 mL) crushed red pepper flakes


Prearation
  1. Cut wings in half at joint. In large bowl, toss chicken with corn starch.
  2. In large frypan heat corn oil over medium-high heat. Add wings & stir-fry until cooked & browned on all sides, about 10 to 15 min. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Combine ketchup, corn syrup, soy sauce, ginger, garlic & hot pepper flakes. Add to frypan & continue stir-frying until wings are well glazed.

*Or substitute 1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground dried ginger.
