Ingredients- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) butter*
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) olive oil*
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 4 red peppers, in strips
- 28 oz. (796 mL) canned diced Italian tomatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup (250 mL) 15 % cream
Instructions- In a pan, melt butter in oil. Gently brown onion, garlic and peppers 5 to 6 minutes. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
- Purée in food processor until smooth. Reheat sauce and add cream. Simmer 2 minutes. Adjust seasoning.
