Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) butter*
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) olive oil*
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 4 red peppers, in strips
  • 28 oz. (796 mL) canned diced Italian tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup (250 mL) 15 % cream


Instructions
  1. In a pan, melt butter in oil. Gently brown onion, garlic and peppers 5 to 6 minutes. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
  2. Purée in food processor until smooth. Reheat sauce and add cream. Simmer 2 minutes. Adjust seasoning.
